We are a working farm here at Wooders, led by Heidi and Jez and their collection of helpers. We look after around a 100 head of Hereford and Normande cross cattle as well as other animals on the farm including chickens, ducks, our hilarious pygmy goats, Molly and Minnie and our fabulous Rocky the horse - the big fella on site - with his mates, our miniature Shetlands; G&T (George and TInkerbell). We also look after all the animals next door at Wild Woodbury, working with the Dorset Wildlife Trust to re-wild land, nurturing what we have locally into something wonderful.
On top of this, we also manage a herd of 3 feral farm children, numerous relatives and friends that help out on the farm and the campsite - you may have met a few already - and a whole host of helpers that you'll meet as they go about their day here. Always wave us down if you see us - we love an excuse to stop for a chat!
Wooders is something a little bit different. There's something rather nostalgic about a camping holiday at Wooders - you could be anywhere in the world at any time - we are a place where time stands still. Where kids can run free (safely) and adults can just breathe out and "be". With plenty of space for a game of rounders we never "pack them in" - we're all about small, local and joy - we just do it in 18 acres of beautiful fields with the amazing backdrop of Wareham Forest and stunning Dark Skies.
